Can you believe it’s Christmas again!

It’s been a long time between blogs, so apart from wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and bright and prosperous 2012, let me briefly fill you in on what the Dreamweavers team has been up to for the last 3 months.

October was jammed packed with some wonderful events and conferences with our team spending the majority of the month interstate. Dreamweavers created, produced and supplied all themeing, entertainment and technical components for an array of events including the Australian Trucking Association Conference (Sydney), The Real Estate Institute of Victoria Awards Gala (Melbourme), Australian Financial Advisers Conference (Gold Coast), The Australian Property Institute Conference and the fabulous Jupiters GC600 reception.

November kicked off with our Raindrops on Roses Melbourne Cup luncheon at Jupiters Hotel and Casino and then the month speed by with our team working on simultaneous conferences and events like the Master Builders National Conference, Jupiters Vanilla Ice Pool Party, the FPA National Conference and the Australian Training Awards.

All of a sudden we found ourselves in December bringing the Jupiters Salt and Pepa Pool Party and corporate Christmas parties galore to life.

As I write this our team is adding the final touches to Christmas Day themeing in the Pavilion Ballroom at Jupiters before taking a short 4 day break…..then it’s all hands on deck for the set-up New Years Eve celebrations!

Dreamweavers created and produced an elegant ‘Flames of the Forest’ dinner event for 250 guests poolside at Jupiters Hotel & Casino last Friday night.

The poolside was mesmerizing with a combination of stylish table décor and seating along with subtle lighting effects and flame lights, massive fire balls, jet flames & smoke effects which created a visually appealing and unique environment.

Guests were entertained throughout the evening, with talent including fire performers, drummers, aerial artists and feature act, David Campbell.

Thanks to our wonderful client, Jupiters Hotel and Casino!

Working with the wonderful team at MCI, Dreamweavers spent last week in Brisbane creating and producing two fantastic social events for the Asia Pacific Cities Summit.
We spent Tuesday and Wednesday on-site at the GABBA bumping in themeing, lighting, audio-visual and sound in preparation for the opening night reception which saw the stadium and Legends room transformed into an energetic team sports theme complete with Queensland sporting team mascots, cheer leaders and an array of wonderful entertainment.
Wednesday and Thursday also saw our team on-site in the Plaza Ballroom at BCEC setting up our amazing Cirque theme for Thursday nights gala dinner. Themeing included our new full colour LED star curtains, 40 inflatable floor and ceiling features, elegant white chiffons, crystal ceiling features and luxurious crystal rose table decor which combined with state-of-the-art lighting, audio-visual and special effects to create a truly magical environment.

April got off to a racing start when our team arrived at Sydney’s Rosehill Gardens Racecourse to theme the hospitality suites for the 2011 Golden Slipper Carnival. Having already provided room styling and production at Rosehill for the Myers Ladies Day Pink Slipper Lunch and Guineas Day Racing Lunch in the two weeks prior our team got underway to bring our creative concepts for The Gold Room, Slipper Club, Schweppes Lounge, The International Lounge and The Australian Racing Conference lunch to life.  A vast selection of sets, props, themeing materials, draping, lighting, table decor, tailor made digital prints, chandeliers, event furnishings, florals, illuminated bars and inflatables all combined to create wonderful themed environments.
An enjoyable time was had by all, especially on race day when the Dreamweavers team took some time out to kick back, relax and punt before bumping out and heading home to Queensland.

After 22 weeks and only 4 weeks to go the Dreamweavers 2010 NRL Tipping Comp winner will almost certainly be decided in the final round.

Of the 36 tipsters, 30 still have a genuine winning chance for the $1800 winner take all cash box.

Although Lloyd ‘Swooper’ Bond has lead the competition for the past 19 weeks, his tipping performance during the past 3 weeks has been less than ordinary and has allowed Peter Hayward (GCCEC) to move up to withing 3 points of his 106 point total.

One point behind Hayward is Cameron Cuskelly (Jupiters) who holds a 4 point margin from Monique Koryzma (Jupiters) and Martin Rainey (Belfast) on 98 points.

But at this time the most powerful weapon for tipsters is their the two Double Point WildCards that each tipster received at the start of the competition.

Some tipsters used their WildCards early and others plan to use them during the final 4 weeks.

Andy Payne, who currently sits on 80 points in competition last place, 26 points behind Swooper’ is still confident that he can still win the competition during the final week.

If Andy managed to score 8 wins from 8 games next weekend, he will score 20 points which will soar him into about 4th position. If he waited until round 26 to use his final WildCard and scored 6×2=12 or 7×2=14 he could very well take away the winners cash box.

A perfect 8 correct picks from 8 AFL round 4 games last weekend lifted Melinda Harris and Janine Harris to hot on the tail of Lloyd Bond who has led the Dreamweavers AFL Tipping Comp from round one.

Although 9 points separate first and last place, this tipping competition is expected to undergo dramatic changes once the Double Points Wild Card option is introduced from round 5.

Each AFL tipster is entitled to TWO double points WildCard rounds which they can take for any rounds between round 5 and 22.

See below the table showing how each tipster scored during round 4 and their progressive scores.
